Hidden Prairie Barn

Hello everyone!

Packed up the camera gear and took a 67 mile jaunt through Brown County,Indiana this morning.  My hopes were to capture a couple barns, not already on my website and to see if the fall colors are beginning to show themselves.

As you can see there is a hint of fall in the trees and weeds around this small barn. It won’t be long and the hills will be steeped with orange and red leaves.

This image was captured with my Nikon D700 and Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 lens. More technical info below.

ISO 400
Focal Length 38mm (38mm in 35mm)

Hello everyone!

In this update you will see a wonderful old barn that I captured while out and about yesterday. We did some back roads barning and came across a few interesting buildings.

While this is not my favorite time of day to shoot, we were really blessed with a wonderful sky and this neat old barn. I captured this image using my Sony RX100 MII. More technical detail below.

Hello everyone!

Our photo journey this week took us to Dayton Ohio and the Air Force Museum. A very interesting place and best of all its a free visit.  If you have not been there, this is a great museum. Allow about 4 hours to get through it.

The image above was taken on the historic National Highway US 40, just west of Richmond Indiana.  This is a great looking bank barn. Some technical data below.  This was shot with my Sony RX100 II.

Barn and Fence

Click the image to view large.

Hello everyone,

We did another all day drive yesterday into Kentucky.  On our way there, we stumbled across this old barn on a backroad in Scott County, Indiana.  The fence in the foreground made for a nice barn shot.  Don’t get one of these very often.  At any rate we had a great time and captured many scenes along the way.  Our destination was Bardstown KY, the bourbon capitol of the world.  I will be posting some images taken at one of the distilleries we visited later.

The technical details for this image are below.  This was taken with my Nikon D700 and Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 lens.

ISO 800
Focal Length 24mm (24mm in 35mm)
Aperture f/7.1
Exposure Time 0.008s (1/125)

As always thanks for stopping by and for following me!! Please feel free to share this image and leave a comment.

Beck’s Mill

Click image for a larger view…

Hello everyone!

Yesterday my photo journey took me on a long trip to the most southern area of Indiana.  Along the way we came across many photo opportunities.  The image above is of Beck’s Mill, located about seven miles south of Salem, Indiana.  A very difficult building to shoot because of its proximity to the country road and the angle of the building.  I’ve made many trips to this old grist mill, but this is by far me favorite image.  Here is some technical info regarding this image, which was captured with my Nikon D700 using a 24-70 f2.8 lens.

ISO 500
Focal Length 34mm (34mm in 35mm)
Aperture f/5.6
Exposure Time 0.025s (1/40)

Thanks for stopping by.  Please feel free to share this post! Have a great day.
