Bank Barn with Goats

Hello everyone!

Took a short drive Thursday and came across this interesting old bank barn.  The yard had several goats walking around.  The light was just a bit harsh, had I drove by about an hour later it might have been a bit better.  Overall though, I like the way this one turned out. This image was captured using my Sony RX100 M2.  More trechnical detail below.

Sunrise Barn

Small Barn at Sunrise

Hello everyone!

We were on the road again this week, out trying to get some good images. We were able to capture a couple of good barn shots before the sun was to high in the sky.  Once again, supposed to be a partly cloudy day, but there were none to be found.

The image above was captured just after sunrise.  This old barn is still a workhorse and very rustic looking.  Obviously both opening on either end were added after the original barn was built.  I will be posting more from this trip tomorrow.  Technical data is below.

Hello everyone,

Took a short drive on a very cool evening last week here in Indiana. It was a beautiful evening with some great skies. I stumbled across a couple old barns that were not yet in my collection.

On this trip I packed my Sony RX100 Mii and my Nikon D700 with my Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 lens attached. The image above was captured with my Nikon setup. Taking this setup worked out well.  My Sony for close up barns and my Nikon for those barns that were a bit farther away from the road.

Some technical data below.

We managed a very nice drive last week out through Johnson County and Brown County Indiana.  Stumbled across several old barns, with this one being my favorite.  It was an extremely sunny day, making it somewhat tough to get good images. I am hoping to get back on the road this upcoming week, so stop by my online gallery.

Another Barn

White Barn and Fence

Hello everyone!

I took a quick drive around the countryside close to my house yesterday and captured this big old white barn. The fence and the curved driveay leading to the buiding really caught my attention.  It had started to rain pretty hard, so I headed back home.

Feel free to leave a comment about what you like or dislike about the image.  Feedback is always appreciated.

Broken Barn

Hello everyone!

We completed a 300+ mile round trip around Indiana yesterday.  The above image is one of a couple barns captured on this trip.  These are some of my first barns captured on the western side of Indiana.

We visited some pretty interesting places.  One such place, the town of Merom, Indiana had a great park which actually sat ontop of a large bluff overlooking the Wabash River.  For the daring there is a set of very steep wooden steps that takes you down to the river.  Getting back to the top may take some doing. There is also a small cafe called  Meleah’s that appeared to be pretty popular located downtown.

Some technical detail about this image.

Dry Falls

Click image to view large and to buy prints.

Hello everyone!

Another image from my autumn North Carolina trip.  The image is of Dry Falls, located in Highland, North Carolina.  This is a great waterfall to shoot.  There are two vantage points, one from above the river and the other from down in the gorge. I will share one of those in my next post.  You can actually walk behind this waterfall, but you must protect your equipment, as its a bit misty down there.

Here is some technical data regarding this image.

Camera NIKON  D700
ISO 100
Focal Length 35mm (35mm in 35mm)
Aperture f/9
Exposure Time 0.3333s (1/3)

Thanks for following my blog, it is really appreciated.  Feel free to share my images with your friends.  More to come!
