Sunrise over the Ohio River

Sunrise over the Ohio River

The image was captured Saturday morning right at sunrise. Several of my photography club members and I traveled down to the Falls of the Ohio Sate Park located in Clarksville, Indiana. We were blessed with a beautiful sunrise and a wonderful day.

This image was captured using my Tokina 11-16 ATX Pro lens mounted on my Nikon D200. Using this lens is really fun, giving some really cool perspective to landscape images. Of course a tripod was also used.

Hope you enjoy this one as much as I do.

Have a great day.

Looking Glass Falls

Hello everyone! Just returned from a trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains in western North Carolina. If you like waterfalls, this is the place to go.

This image is of Looking Glass Falls. There are some great images to be had here, but some climbing around on wet rocks will be necessary.

You can see some more of my images from this trip, by visiting my new Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountain gallery at Country Roads Photo.

Have a great day!

Another Smokies Shot

Sorry folks, but with winter, and having a terrible cold, I have just not found the time to get out and take some good images.  My thoughts are that this would be a perfect time to share a black and white image of the old grist mill located in Cades Cove, deep in the heart of the Great Smokey Mountain National Park.

I have shot this on a couple of occasions, but find this black and white to be very pleasing.  I call it “Walk Inside” .  We spoke about this image in our photography club last night.  When asked why I chose the title, my explanation was the wooden walkway and the open door.  Looking at these two points in the image, I immediately want to walk inside.

Thanks for stopping by.  You can see a larger image by clicking here.

Rainy Day

Lake Pisgah

My plans were to head out for some more autumn images this evening, but the weather is not cooperating. Actually if it would just stop raining I would head out. Since that is not going to happen, my image today is one that was taken a few days ago in Johnson County Park. There is some very beautiful views in this park, especially if you stay close and wander down into the river. There are several small lakes located in this area. My image is of one of them, called Lake Pisgah. This was taken last Saturday morning. Click here to see a larger view in my gallery. This image, like all the rest are for sale directly from my gallery.

Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
