Red Barn and Snow

There  is something really eye catching when I see a red barn up against a snowy background.  I felt it was very important in this image to also give some focus to the entire landscape surrounding this barn.

Hopefully you enjoy this is as much as I do. Have a great week!

These store fronts are located in a small Indiana town called Bowling Green. It appeared that all the businesses had abandoned the buildings. All the different colors and lines make this image interesting to me. Click here for a larger view.

Springs Arrival

Narrow Red Barn

While out and about yesterday with my camera, it was clearly evident that mother earth is beginning its transition from winter to spring. The grass and winter wheat is beginning to get very green, and the trees have a reddish tone to them. All sure signs of renewal.

The barn above was captured in Jackson County, Indiana, not far from Brownstown. It was a very nice morning to be out and about with the camera. Being a Friday morning, the traffic was minimal. This allowed for some nice drive by shooting opportunites.

Stop by my website to view the other images I captured on Good Friday. We are now offering canvas gallery wraps for most all of my images. These are extremely high quality prints on archival canvas, that look great in any room. Click here for more information.

Cold Winters Day

Cold Winters Day

Finally was able to get out for a short drive this past weekend. As you can see from my image, it was a very gray and gloomy day. There is something about this weather that really makes for more dramatic shots. Its like you can almost feel the cool wind hitting your face when you look at these winter images. If you would like to view this image a bit larger, please go to my home on the web, Country Roads Photo.

Feel free to leave me some comments, and please stop back.

A Great Day

One could almost get a touch of spring fever this afternoon. What a wonderful sunny day. My travels today took me down some country roads just west of Indianapolis, in Morgan County. While I must say the barns are far, and few between, we managed to capture a couple of nice shots. The sky was emerald blue, and the wind was very still. The barn above was captured on IN 42. Click here for a larger view. Stop by my website to see my other recent images. It sure felt good to get out and about.

Have a great day!

Autumn in Brown County

Brown County Barn

After a few weeks of anticipation the huge show of color in Brown County, Indiana has finally begun. My wife and I drove yesterday approximately 125 miles around this beautiful county, enjoying, the just beginning show of color. The image posted above was taken just off of a side road off IN 135. We made a stop in beautiful Story, Indiana and also visited an old cemetery.

Retired Chevy

Retired Chevy Truck

What a find. A 1952 Chevy 3100 pickup truck. This
old truck was setting out in a field beside an old farm buildingout in Brown County, Indiana.
If one looks closely you can see some bullet holes in it.
This image was captured in November of
2006 and continues to be one of my favorite images.
While processing this I applied the Orton effect to it.
This helps make the colors pop, and adds just a bit of softness
to the image.
