Hello everyone. This image was captured back in 2008 on a trip down to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
There was not very much color around here (Indiana) this year due to the drought, so I decided to go through some of my older images to remind myself what great autumn color looks like.
This park is probably one the best places in the country for taking pictures. We really enjoy heading there when ever possible.

This past week members of my photo club took a trip down to Maggie Valley, North Carolina. This was my first excursion involving nothing but photography. What a great time we had. The weather and the color in the mountains was absolutely beautiful. This was truly a memorable trip. To see more of my images from the trip, click here. I will be adding new images daily. We put in some very long days, but in the end the work was well worth the effort, both in terms of images captured and the learning we were able to share with one another.

It was a very frosty but beautiful November morning. Driving out into Johnson County Park, I happened across this scene. The morning light was coming across the river just right and provided a nice warm glow with the leaves. The colorful leaves will be all but gone with the next rain. It was a beautiful day Sunday for a long drive out through Brown County, Indiana. The hills and valleys are bursting with color. The leaves will probably really begin to fall this week, given the advent of colder temperatures, including a frost over the weekend. I was able to capture several nice pictures yesterday. The image above was captured just south of Story, Indiana.

After a few weeks of anticipation the huge show of color in Brown County, Indiana has finally begun. My wife and I drove yesterday approximately 125 miles around this beautiful county, enjoying, the just beginning show of color. The image posted above was taken just off of a side road off IN 135. We made a stop in beautiful Story, Indiana and also visited an old cemetery.
